This lightweight jersey tee brings the authentic Black cowboys of Texas into the present. Every design in the Legacy Collection begins with a historical photograph—not a fictional character or a generic Western image. These were real men who worked cattle, mastered horsemanship, participated in fairs and helped shape the ranching culture now celebrated as the American West.
The collection includes photographs connected to Fort Worth in 1910 and the Negro State Fair in Bonham, Texas, in 1913. Their names may not always have survived in the historical record, but their faces, skills and presence did. The photographs offer visual proof that Black cowboys were not exceptions to Western history. They were part of its foundation.
Select shirts include quotations and published sources on the back, connecting the photographs to documented research about African cattle-herding traditions and the significant role Black cowboys played in American ranching.
Soft, lightweight jersey gives each shirt an easy, lived-in feel, while the archival photographs and vintage-inspired typography allow the history to remain at the center of the design. Wear it alone or layered under a jacket when you want your clothes to carry more than an image.
